Process

🔎 Researched other event posters so my new design would stand out among the crowd (note the overuse of dark colors and star-focused images in these other posters)

📖 Gained inspiration from Henrietta Levitt’s life so the poster would tell a genuine story

🌌 Made astronomy-inspired color choices

👩 Focused the layout on Henrietta herself and the story behind her silhouette (in the play, she is constantly overlooked as an astronomer because she is a woman— there is so much more to her than what people see at face-value)

Final Design

The poster design successfully:

✅ Markets the event and boosts ticket sales

✅ Tells a genuine story about the play (instead of just slapping a starry sky in the background)

✅ Stands out among other Silent Sky production posters
